LinkedIn Review

LinkedIn has been a changing force in recruitment and you need to ensure your profile is accurate, appropriate, detailed and up-to-date. Your LinkedIn profile should not be your CV; it should be complementary to your CV but not identical. Your profile is often the hook for recruiters to approach you for your CV and you should invest the same in your LinkedIn profile as your CV.

When you submit your profile to us you will also provide a brief summary of why you are reviewing it, or we can have a quick telephone call (typically it takes less than 15mins, so we can schedule relatively quickly) and you can tell us what you are looking to achieve with your updated profile. Your LinkedIn profile should always be up-to-date.

We undertake the obvious checks: spelling, grammar, punctuation, layout and content.   This is worthwhile for native and non-native English speakers because when we talk about our careers we often use company (rather than industry) jargon and generally use the strangest of expressions. We provide the feedback, pull out examples from your CV and help you learn the skills to improve this. Our constant mantra is this CV must reflect you – not us.

We review your profile in its entirety and look for a consistency of theme or the appropriate information to explain moves and gaps. This profile is presenting a (true) story of you – we ensure recruiters don’t feel they’re reading an introduction, paragraphs and conclusions from different books.   Your LinkedIn profile can also be more informal and more detailed than a CV and we will help you focus on developing the critical areas you need to highlight.

We will send you a ‘candidate summary’ which is a typical overview a recruiter will provide to a hiring manager, showing you how recruiters are interpreting your profile. This enables you, as the owner of your career, to review and amend to ensure you are presenting the professional image you want.
